To share the weight between two anchors, you need a setup that creates two load paths in the rope so neither anchor is asked to take all the force. The Double Loop Figure Eight does this by producing two secure loops that can be attached to each anchor. The double-loop version also stays solid under load and is easy to inspect and untie afterward.
